were we wrong!
We rented a 'vacation home' in Ninole on the Hamakua Coast from a woman named Claire. We found the rental on Craigslist while we were still in California. Claire advertised a 'lovely' two bedroom one bathroom rental with ocean view and pool.
In reality, Claire's place is a storage unit below her home and it is full of bedbugs and centipedes that can kill with one bite. The refridgerator didn't work and Claire blamed us. We left after the second night and stayed at the Kamuela Country Inn for 3 nights.
We found an apartment owned by the Mamale Baker and it smelled so bad because the previous tennant had died in the place that we pulled out the carpet and installed new flooring at our own expense then spent 9 days scrubbing the entire apartment from the ceilings to the floors.
